The scent of dust amid the boxes
Stacked high in the corner
How many times has it been you wonder
When these walls recalled the familiar
Stacked boxes all full of memories
Carried from place to place
Do you even bother to unpack
These dusty fragments of the past
Surely they found their place
In corners of foreign walls
Left clinging to the comfort of darkness
They’ve learned to live in so long
Are these memories still alive
Waiting for the light
Or have they succumbed to the dust
Left forgotten in the night
