Rhonda Adds Her Two Cents
Hello again. Let me just put my drink down here for a moment.
Penny has given us a run down on the 50 Shades of Grey movie. Now I’m here to add my two cents: sex and money sells. We all know that and we shouldn’t be surprised. Hell if I could write monster porn I would be sending it out by the boat load … It sells dammit!
There is a silver lining. You have to dig to find it, but it’s there. Even though it’s terrible 50 Shades of Grey actually makes you think … Ugh …
— P.L. Cobb, in an attempt at being deep.
I bet you already know where this is going …
… The Silver Lining To 50 Shades of Grey
It forces us to be more open about our sexuality. Sorry Grandma.
So what is so wrong about sex toys and a woman being in charge of what she likes?
Nothing.
I am not saying that you should whip out your sex toys and give a sales pitch in front of Grandma at Thanksgiving, but women and men should be open to conversations about what they like in the bedroom, what their limits are, and what they are willing to try.
So maybe having these kinds of movies and books out on the market may not be a bad thing. Even if they are not that great. They open us up to topics that we may be too shy to bring up with our significant others. Being able to communicate openly with your partner helps the relationship … And at the end of the day, isn’t that what everyone wants?
Just to clarify, I’m referring to building healthy relationships here. The kind that have consent and respect. What’s going on in 50 Shades of Grey should never be the basis for any type of relationship, friend or otherwise.
If you don’t own a sex toy go get one! If you haven’t had this conversation with your significant other start tonight.
Cheers!
R. J. Davies
