What We Bring
It’s simple: creative writing and art, and other types of magic with a high focus on quality as opposed to quantity. Life is too short for crap, so we try to avoid it. If you like our brand of magic then you should stick around.
How It All Started …
I first entered the world of blogging in 2013 when I started The Enigmatic Monster Project, an experimental weird fiction blog. This venture helped me realize my love for creative fiction overall. This also renewed my love for poetry and the short story. Since 2014 and onward I have been pushing myself to write new and better things.
The decision to start my own personal website and blog was an easy one. In 2017 one of my resolutions was to further my brand, and to showcase my personal projects. Things like blogging and marketing have been growing interests of mine since 2014 and I still have plenty to learn! Learning new things is important in realizing and furthering one’s career.
2017 became 2018, and things changed yet again: I had acquired two guest writers. Suddenly the party wasn’t all about me, so something had to change … What started out as P.L. Cobb turned into P.L. Cobb & Friends. Thankfully that lasted for about a week, because that is the king of lame names.
And that is the story of how we became Rule of Three. Now how’s that for abrupt endings?
About P.L. Cobb
You’ll find me somewhere in Sault Ste Marie, Ontario. Northern Ontario if you want to be more exact. In 2012 I graduated from Sault College with a three year diploma in Graphic Design; that same year I worked as a temporary designer for the Bushplane Museum, and then as a city ambassador for a local train tour. My life didn’t really start to get interesting until 2013, when I finally moved into my own place and experienced life on my own.
When people say that your life goes downhill once you hit your twenties they’re only partly right.
What they fail to mention is that your life also just starts when you hit your twenties. How’s that for irony? I could go on with that but there’s a short story somewhere within that anecdote, so I’ll leave it for now.
Back to 2013 … From that year onward I’ve been working on my dream career: graphic designer and published author. Currently I work as a designer for a local dealership. Freelance has taught me to be very picky about my clients.
I don’t have a GIF because I was too lazy to make one, so you’re welcome Mitch and Rhonda. Merry Christmas 2017!
About R.J. Davies
R. J. Davies (also known as R. J. Davies Mornix) currently resides in Sault Ste. Marie, ON. She has been writing since she was 8 years of age. Rhonda is a graduate of Sault College; she started out in Police Foundations but then graduated from Computer Engineering instead.
Rhonda is constantly researching story ideas, conversations, and scenes in ratty notebooks, napkins and slips of torn coffee stained envelopes. Her favourite questions always start off with What if … What if this happens, what if that happens, what would it be like if this was real? Or what if that was real? She likes reading theoretical physics books, science fiction and hanging out with her son. She’s the author of the Dice Maddox novellas and the Maddox Files novels.
